Icarian Records is an independent label that believes in new music that is daring, intelligent and creative. According to Ovid’s myth, Icarus escaped from the Labyrinth on wings made of wax, built by his father Daedalus. As Icarus took flight, he came too close to the sun and the heat melted his wings. Even though he came crashing down, the myth associates the young Icarus with the Moon, which waxes and wanes, indicating that he attained a kind of odd immortality. Daedalus, however, is relegated to obscurity, for even though he was a master craftsman, wax is a dumb thing to make wings out of. We believe in the artist.
